Round-up

Here’s some thing that happened over the last few months:

We went to the UK. We packed the Joy Machine* top to bottom with gear and hopped on the old Jonathan Swift. Our ferry captain sounded like Bill Oddie. Milo in Leeds first, them Proud Camden and finished up with the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen. Our main gig laptop had a catastrophic failure but luckily we had a backup and Fiona Chambers‘ machine was substituted in. Proud Camden liked us enough asked back to play Saturday 24th September so obviously we’re doing something right.

We Played Festivals. We had a wild time closing the main dome in No Place Like Dome in Sligo. Caught This Way Up‘s set beforehand, savage hip hop coming out of Sligo. Knockanstockan rocked harder this year than ever before, really well organised and beautifully laid out.

Dublin Gigs. Whelan’s asked us to do a free Thursday night show which went down a treat. We were supported by the wonderful Reko. Proper dancing from a big crowd, nice one. Ourselves and Ghosties played The Joinery at the start of August, a cool little art space in Arbour Hill who have been putting on some great events over the summer.

The Future. We’re putting together a big event in the middle of September, all the juicy details to follow. Then we’re off to the UK again to do four more dates and eat delicious Vietnamese food in Hoxton. On the 29th of September we’re playing the IMRO showcase along with Cars Love Girls, Last Days of 1984 and Bear Bones. That’s in Crawdaddy and should be a blast. Into October and 2FM and Today FM are curating a night at Hard Working Class Heroes which we’re really looking forward to playing.

That’s it for the moment. Thanks a million to everyone who came to see us this summer and to all the promoters and crew involved. It really feels like it’s starting to come together in a big way and people are taking notice so heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make that happen.

Oh and we have a new single coming out, so we’ll see you soon.
